Davison, McCafferty sign with UGF hoops

University of Great Falls men’s basketball coach Anthony Owens has announced the signing of Parker McCafferty and Grant Davison to the Argonauts program.

McCafferty is a point guard who led the Belt Huskies to an unbeaten season and the Class C state title this spring. He was named to the Class C All-State team as a senior.

Davison is a small forward who played his senior season at Great Falls Central Catholic High School. He also competed for Highwood during his high school career. Davison was an All-Conference first team selection in the 10C conference this year.

Chargers A splits with Fort MacLeod

Tim Hanning went 4-for-4 and drove in five runs as the Great Falls Chargers A squad took the front end of a doubleheader, 13-8, over the visiting Royals.

Keelan Hayworth, AJ Folds and Payton Mitchel all had multi-hit games as well, and Matt Gange went the distance on the hill for the win.

Fort MacLeod took the nightcap, 4-3, despite a pair of hits each from Hayworth, Brandon Lefebre and Brent Shepherd.
