A Great Falls man made his initial court appearance Monday for allegedly putting a gun to his neighbor’s head. Dustin “Dusty” James Wilson is charged with assault with a weapon, a felony, in connection to the incident, which occurred at about 4am Sunday in the area of the 600 block of 5th Avenue South.

According to the police report, neighbors told the police dispatcher that Wilson was pointing a gun at people and threatening to kill them. The documents indicate Wilson approached investigating officers as they arrived on the scene, telling them, “I did it, you are going to arrest me.”

The report says Wilson told the officers he was sick of his neighbors, who he believed were selling drugs from their house. The documents also says Wilson referenced having a gun. Investigators report finding a .44 magnum in Wilson’s home that matched the description several witnesses provided of the weapon Wilson allegedly used.

Wilson’s bail was set at $25,000.
