Motl headlines hearings

HELENA – As the Montana Legislature enters its penultimate week — Monday is day 80 of the 90-day session — the hearings calendar is bare.

The hot hearing is 3 p.m., Monday. The Senate Administration Committee will take up Senate Resolution 53 on the confirmation of Jonathan Motl as commissioner of political practices.

The House Education Committee will take up at 3 p.m., Monday House Joint Resolution 32, sponsored by Rep. Tom Woods, D-Bozeman, for an interim study of university computer systems efficiency.

Senate Bill 207, sponsored by Sen. Bruce Tutvedt, R-Kalispell, aims to contain health care costs by limiting liability. The House Human Services Committee will take up Tutvedt's bill at 3 p.m., Monday, along with House Joint Resolution 31, sponsored by Rep. Zach Brown, D-Bozeman, to study workers' compensation fraud.
