Man with 10 DUI convictions arrested again

BILLINGS (AP) – A 54-year-old Billings man with 10 convictions for driving under the influence has been charged with DUI after officers say he nearly sideswiped a pair of patrol cars, forcing one of them onto the shoulder of the road to avoid being hit.

The Billings Gazette reports Robert Orville Latray made an initial appearance in Justice Court via video from jail Thursday. Justice of the Peace Pedro Hernandez set his bail at $60,000 and ordered Latray to appear in District Court on April 3 to enter a plea.

Latray was arrested shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday in Billings. Court records say his blood-alcohol level was 0.19 percent, more than twice the limit of 0.08 percent at which a person is considered legally intoxicated.

Latray has DUI or DUI per se convictions dating back to 1986.
