Picture gentle breezes and the sun on your face. Now picture a giant stage with your favorite bands right in the middle of it all and you’ve got Rockin’ the Rivers.

Rockin’ the Rivers, Montana’s very own rock festival, celebrates its 15th birthday this year and proves the best things only get bigger, better and louder with age. Starting Aug. 7 and running through Aug. 9, more than 30 bands rock The Bridge near Three Forks for mobs of music devotees.

Headliner bands for 2015 include Theory of a Deadman, Puddle of Mudd, and Saliva.

Fans who like their music a bit more on the vintage side can look forward to Twisted Sister’s Dee Snyder, Quiet Riot, Great White, Skid Row, War, and Check Negron of Three Dog Night.

In addition to the big names, many local and regional bands will fill in the gaps to give the crowd wall-to-wall rock. There’s even a Thursday pre-party for early birds featuring Dellacoma, Appetite for Deception, Black Powder County, and Nova Rex.

Camping is available near the concert venue for the hardcore three-day die-hards, and there’s even a campsite decorating contest that nets winners regular and VIP passes and merchandise from contest sponsors. Not interested in sleeping on the ground? Buy a single ticket to see the lineup you like best and go for the day.
