The Great Falls Tribune continued its "Championship First Pitch" promotion at Centene Stadium Friday night as the newspaper teamed with the Voyagers to honor the Choteau boys' basketball team.

Graduated senior Logan Howard tossed out the ceremonial first pitch, and the team was recognized during the game in a promotion sponsored by the Tribune.

The Choteau boys' team, coached by Matt Luedtke, won its first championship since 1969 with a 74-57 victory over Missoula Loyola last March at Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls. The Bulldogs finished a perfect 26-0.

The Tribune's "Championship First Pitch" promotions began last week by honoring the state champion Choteau wrestling team. On Sunday afternoon, the newspaper and Voyagers will recognize the 40th anniversary of the 1975 Great Falls Chargers baseball team.

Other "Championship" promotions, part of the Tribune's ongoing effort to connect with the communities it serves, will honor the following state championship teams: Conrad girls' softball, Malta girls' basketball, Belt boys' basketball, CMR girls' soccer and Great Falls High wrestling.
