A Great Falls man has died two weeks after the sport utility truck he was driving drifted off the side of Stockett Road, rolled several times and ejected him from the vehicle.

Michael Frost, 53, died from his injuries on Sunday, Aug. 2, at Benefis Health System in Great Falls. The crash that ultimately took his life occurred shortly before 9:30 am on July 18.

According to a Montana Highway Patrol incident report, Frost was driving north on Stockett Road roughly eight miles south of the intersection with U.S. Highway 87, when his 1988 Chevy Trailblazer drifted off the right-side shoulder of a curve.

“Driver overcorrected, crossing the center line, then overcorrected to the right and lost control,” the report states. “Vehicle slid into a ditch on the right-hand side and up onto a rock embankment. Vehicle overturned as it slid up and overturned several times. Vehicle came to rest upright on its wheels. Driver was ejected as it rolled, and was transported to Benefis hospital.”

The MHP report states that Frost was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
