1 killed, 2 injured in Billings crash

BILLINGS (AP) – Police say one person was killed and two others were injured when the SUV they were in slammed into a light pole in Billings.

Lt. Mark Cady tells The Billings Gazette the crash happened in the Heights area at about 1 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say speed likely played a role in the crash.

The victims’ names and ages have not been released, and it remains unclear who was driving.

The Gazette reports the site of the crash — Main Street and Lake Elmo Drive — was ranked the highest-risk intersection in the 2014 Billings Police Department annual report, with 39 crashes.
