The C.M. Russell High School production of “American Roulette” has been postponed one week.

The play is scheduled to be performed May 14-16 and May 21-23. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. nightly and on Saturday, May 16, and Saturday, May 23, an additional 2 p.m. matinee will be performed.

Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6 for students. The play includes realistic language, simulated violence and drug use and drug references.

The play, written by CMR drama and stagecraft instructor Chris Evans, follows 11 people in the 24 hours before, during and after a school shooting.

The talk-back sessions will encourage people to discuss the issues surrounding the play, Evans said.

Even with its difficult subject matter, Evans says the play is one of “hope and healing.”

“It’s a play about being able to take a tragedy like this and just how it takes the air out of us, but in the end we do stand up, we do get back up, the sun always comes up again,” he said.
