A Great Falls man remains in serious condition at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings following a head-on collision with a semi on Memorial Day.

Timothy Gibbs, 24, was taken to St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings following the midday collision on State Highway 3, roughly 27 miles northeast of Billings. According to information from the Montana Highway Patrol, Gibbs was attempting to pass a semi as he maneuvered his car into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on into the oncoming semi.

According to information posted on a GoFundMe website, two additional occupants of the vehicle Gibbs was driving were also injured. Twenty-three year old Madison Mehan incurred relatively minor injuries. The couple's 3-year-old daughter was seriously injured.

St. Vincent spokeswoman Angela Douglas said Gibbs remains in "serious condition" at St. Vincent Healthcare.

According to the American Hospital Association, the term serious means that the patient's "vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits. Patient is acutely ill. Indicators are questionable."

As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, a GoFundMe site had raised $1,235 to help offset Gibbs' medical costs.

"Thank you everyone who has sent prayers and donated," a notation on the Gibbs' GoFundMe site reads. "My family appreciates everything. Regarding the condition of the three that were involved in the accident is currently family matters. Thank You."
