A 52-year-old Great Falls man died Saturday when he lost control of his pickup truck and rolled the vehicle, forcing him to eject from the cab, officials said.

The crash was reported at 7:09 a.m. at mile marker 5 on county Road 234, south of Havre, near Herron, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

Alcohol and speed were a factor in the crash, officials said as road conditions were clear and dry. The man was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. Officials said he was not wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle was northbound on 234 and the driver failed to negotiate a curve, officials said. He overcorrected and forced the vehicle across the road, then overcorrected again, prompting the vehicle to roll. He was ejected from the cab. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
