Voyagers-Brewers delayed

Voyagers-Brewers suspended in Helena

HELENA – It seems the only way to stop the Great Falls Voyagers right now is to pray for rain.

We don't know if prayer was involved, but rain suspended the Voyagers-Brewers game Monday night at Ace Kindrick Field with the Voyagers leading 3-0 in the bottom of the first.

Antonio Rodriguez tripled home Jake Jarvis to draw first blood for the Voyagers (7-3), who currently top the Pioneer League North by 11/2 games over the Missoula Osprey. Rodriguez scored when Zach Fish's sacrifice fly was dropped by Carlos Belonis, and Fish scored two batters later on Johan Cruz's scoring fly ball.

The Brewers were batting in the last of the first with two out and runners at first and second when time was called. Since this was the Voyagers' last trip to the Capital City in the first half, the game will not be made up until sometime in August during the second half of the season.

The Voyagers will return home for a six-game home-and-home-and-home series with the Missoula Osprey, with two games at Centene Stadium, two in Missoula, and two more over the Fourth of July weekend in Great Falls.

Righty Evin Einhardt (0-0, 4.66 ERA) is the announced starter for Great Falls, while Scott Schultz (0-1, 9.53) will take the bump for the Osprey at game time, which will be 7 p.m.
