Man charged with stabbing girlfriend in head

MISSOULA (AP) – A man is being held on a $250,000 bond on charges that he stabbed his girlfriend in the head.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Shane Childress on an attempted deliberate homicide charge, among others.

Authorities say Childress was arguing with his girlfriend at a hotel early Monday morning. Police arrived to find the woman bleeding from the top of her head.

Childress was arrested at a nearby motel a few hours later.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and released Tuesday.
