Bullock has nearly $600K in bank for re-election bid

ALISON NOON

HELENA (AP) – Gov. Steve Bullock raised considerably less money to fund his re-election this spring than he did in winter. But with $596,000 in the bank, he’s sitting on a half-million dollars more than any other candidate for public office in Montana.

Financial reports filed Monday show the Democratic incumbent brought in nearly $180,000 from April through June. It’s $40,000 less than he raised the first quarter.

Republican Mark Perea, Libertarian Ron Vandevender and Independent Christopher Zarcone have filed paperwork to run for governor, but none have raised any money.

Bozeman technology entrepreneur Greg Gianforte is still considering whether to run against Bullock.

Over the past three months, cash also flowed to candidates for secretary of state, superintendent of public instruction, state auditor, attorney general and Montana Supreme Court justices.
