A 26-year-old female was killed Monday afternoon in a crash near Geyser, Trooper Jason Fredenberg with the Montana Highway Patrol said.

A Chevy truck was east-bound on Highway 87 and attempting to pass a slow-moving tractor when it collided head-on with a Toyota RAV4, which was headed west and being driven by the female victim, Fredenberg said.

The crash took place at about 2:50 p.m. near mile marker 27 between Geyser and Stanford.

Fredenberg said speed appears to be a factor.

The crash also sent an infant in the Toyota RAV4 and the 21-year-old male driver of the Chevy truck to the hospital with injuries, he said.

The female driver was wearing her seat belt, and the male driver was not, Fredenberg said.
