DaVita Great Falls Dialysis is preparing to move from a second floor suite in the Benefis Health System Doctors Plaza office building to a larger, more visible location.

The privately owned out-patient clinic for kidney-disease patients is moving to a formerly vacant building at 3400 10th Ave. S. in early 2016, said facility administrator Heather Smith.

Construction workers installed the DaVita Dialysis sign recently at 3400 10th Ave. S. The privately owned outpatient clinic for kidney-disease patients is shifting to its new, more visible location early next year.

“We outgrew our current space in the Doctors Plaza, and are looking forward to upgrading the new, one-level facility with a state-of-the-art water system, dialysis equipment and technology,” she said.

DaVita, a Denver-based company, purchased the dialysis clinic of Benefis Health System in 2013. DaVita operates 2,152 out-patient dialysis clinics in the United States and others throughout the world.

In Great Falls, DaVita employs more than two-dozen workers, including nurses, technicians, social workers, dieticians and administrative staff, Smith said.

It serves more than 80 area patients who come in for four-hour dialysis sessions, three times a week, as well as more than 40 patients to do their dialysis at home under the guidance of DaVita nurses.
