Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks game wardens are looking for anyone with information about the carcasses of two bull elk that were dumped illegally just north of Great Falls.

Kqyn Kuka, FWP game warden in Great Falls, said the carcasses were discovered No. 6.

The heads and hind quarters were taken, but the backstraps and front quarters were left on the Floweree Road between Bootlegger and Darby roads, Kuka said.

It is illegal to waste any edible part of a big game animal, defined as all four quarters, the loins and backstraps.

Anyone with information is urged to call Kuka at 406-750-3574.

FWP game wardens also are looking for anyone with information about a six-point bull elk illegally shot south of Roy in Fergus County.

Shawn Briggs, FWP game warden in Lewistown, said it was shot Nov. 23.

The incident took place on Rattlesnake Butte along Black Butte Road. A green Ford Ranger pickup with a green topper was seen in the area, Briggs said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Briggs at 406-366-4800.

Information regarding both cases also can be called in at 1-800-TIPMONT. Informants are kept confidential and rewards up to $1,000 are possible.
