Man faces 13 charges for stolen vehicle crash
A Great Falls man accused of stealing a vehicle and ramming into another car on 10th Avenue South made his initial court appearance Tuesday. Ramin Paul Rudeseal, 21, faces 13 criminal counts in connection to the Monday incident.
Court documents say Rudeseal took a 1992 GMC Jimmy parked in front of a Great Falls residence with the keys inside. The report says one of the vehicle's owners located the GMC, being driven by Rudeseal on 10th Avenue South and 14th Street South. The owner reportedly attempted to block Rudeseal's path with his vehicle, which had a 3-year-old child in it, and Rudeseal rammed it with the GMC.
The charging document does not reference any injuries to the occupants of the vehicle that was hit.
Court documents also say Rudeseal fled the scene of that incident and was located several blocks away. Witnesses reported that Rudeseal dropped a handgun as he fled. It was later determined that the gun was taken from an unlocked truck several blocks from where the GMC was parked. Court reports say an $18,000 specialized welding inspection machine was stolen from the same truck along with an iPod Touch from another vehicle at the same residence. The iPod was found on the defendant's person, along with a baggy of marijuana and a glass pipe.
Charging documents say Rudeseal was combative during his arrest, and spit blood on a Great Falls police officer at the emergency room while causing a disturbance there.
Rudeseal was charged with two counts of felony theft, felony criminal mischief and criminal endangerment, also a felony. He also faces nine misdemeanors including criminal mischief, reckless driving, obstructing a peace officer, assault with a bodily fluid, theft, two counts of criminal trespass to vehicles, criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court documents indicate Rudeseal is on probation for felony DUI. The report shows several other crimes on his record, including drug possession, criminal trespass to a vehicle, several counts of misdemeanor theft and juvenile offenses.
His bail was set at $75,000.
