“Dear My Neighbor in Need,

I am a single father of two young girls and I need help with my water bill. Due to circumstances beyond my control I had to pay the previous owner's past due water bill to keep the water turned on. I was able to pay $130 toward the bill but I cannot afford to pay the balance of $99.95. Thank you so much.”

My Neighbor in Need response,

“We spoke with him and he completed the application. During our conversation he stated that he was working with two other non-profit organizations who could verify why he had to pay the previous owner’s water bill. We contacted Salvation Army Family Services and Habitat for Humanity and they confirmed his situation. In addition, both organizations also provided financial assistance to help this family in need. His need request was approved and posted on www.myneighborinneed.org and featured in the Great Falls Tribune. In a very short time, two caring donors provided the needed funds to pay the balance of the water bill. Thank you very much Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and the donors.”

“Dear My Neighbor in Need,

I am a Veteran with some medical issues. I have been homeless but I have been blessed to find a part-time job, which will help me change my life for the better. The problem is it is difficult for me to walk back and forth to work. I am seeking help with a bus pass – just until I get my first paycheck. Thank you so much.”

My Neighbor in Need response.

We met the Veteran inside our office at Times Square. He completed the application and his need request was approved. During our conversation with him he asked how he could pay it back. We told him about our Free Pet Food Pantry and he smiled and offered to come back and bag pet food, which he did just a few days after getting his bus pass that an anonymous donor provided. A “You Rock” award goes out to the donor for providing the bus pass and to the Veteran for helping others in need.”

“Dear My Neighbor in Need,

I am a young mother of a one-year old and I am expecting a baby in a couple of months. I am in need of a bed that I can share with my one-year old. Thank you very much for your consideration.”

My Neighbor in Need response,

We spoke with her and asked her to meet with us. She was accompanied by a volunteer from one of our non-profit partners, Family Promise. She completed the application and her need request was approved. Thanks to a recent donation of many beds from the Crystal Inn, we were able to provide her with a queen size bed system. Thank you goes out to Family Promise and the Crystal Inn.”
