Cut Bank student receives honor

Nianna Light, a student at Cut Bank High School, was recognized last Wednesday for her academic achievements and selected to be a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. The announcement was made by NSHSS founder and chairman Claes Nobel.

“On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment that Nianna has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence,” said Nobel. “Nianna is now a member of a unique community of scholars — a community that represents our very best hope for the future.”

Benefis Foundation announced grant winners

Two organizations that submitted for Benefis Health System Foundation’s Community Grant Contest were picked as winners: Montana No Kid Hungry of the youth category and Quality Life Concepts of the adult category.

Both organizations will receive a grant of $2,500. Montana No Kid Hungry plans to use their grant to help start a Summer Feeding Food Trailer program that would visit three parks a week in Great Falls to deliver lunches to children. Quality Life Concepts plans to use theirs in purchasing 22 dummies to use in CPR training.

GNR correction from April 20

Good News Roundup on April 20 listed several students who placed at the 44th State Leadership and Skills Conference. Riley Wadsworth of C.M. Russell High School was the bronze winner of the Carpentry category.
