Cold fourth quarter dooms Rustlers

BILLINGS – Billings West’s Haylea Elkin tallied a game-high 15 points, and the Golden Bears topped visiting C.M. Russell High 54-47 on Friday night.

The Rustler girls of head coach Brian Crosby, which received a team-high nine points from Akasia Denton and eight from Addison Gardner, dropped to 5-9 overall and 2-4 in the Eastern Conference. Both teams were tied at 42-all heading into the fourth quarter, where West outscored CMR 12-5.

The Bears improved to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play. Cody Rogers added 13 for West.

Russell continues on the road Saturday, facing Billings Skyview at 4:30 in the afternoon.
