Police: Men broke into home to steal drug money

BILLINGS (AP) – A man is charged with breaking into a Billings apartment and threatening several people with a stolen gun in an apparent attempt to steal drug money.

The Billings Gazette reports 33-year-old Daryl Ray Deshaw was charged Thursday in Justice Court with felony aggravated burglary. He did not enter a plea. Bond was set at $50,000 and his District Court arraignment was set for May 29.

Police Capt. John Bedford says two men wearing ski masks entered an apartment Wednesday night.

Charging documents say one of the residents rushed Deshaw, who threw the handgun at him. Prosecutors say the other suspect grabbed the gun and fired a shot near the head of another resident.

Police say Deshaw told them he planned the robbery because he knew the residents sold drugs and would have cash.

Officers are seeking the other suspect.
