A man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly arriving at an apartment with a knife in hand, waving it around and making irrational statements.

Wesley Lane Crawford, 36, a transient living in Great Falls, was booked into jail with one count of felony assault with a weapon by reasonable apprehension.

No one was injured, said Lt. Mike Grubb, of the Great Falls Police Department.

“There was a bit of a disturbance,” Grubb said. “The victim said he was scared Crawford was going to stab him.”

Crawford allegedly accompanied another man to the apartment at 601 7th Ave. N. Saturday just before 9 a.m.

The other man knew the person who lived in the apartment, but Crawford did not.

“The victim did not know him and was scared of him,” Grubb said.

Crawford appeared to be under the influence when the disturbance occurred.

He’s being held on a $50,000 bond.
