Search continues for arsonist after 15 fires near Libby

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — Lincoln County authorities continue to search for a suspected arsonist after three more fires were reported in the Kootenai National Forest.

Sheriff Roby Bowe tells the Flathead Beacon (http://bit.ly/1EjYElK) there have been at least 15 human-caused fires in the county since May 15. The latest three were started on the evening of Aug. 6.

He says the fires have been close to town or near neighborhoods, causing additional concern.

Bowe says the sheriff’s office has received some leads, but authorities still have no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office.
