County to close Manchester-McIver corner temporarily

The Cascade County Public Works Department is temporarily closing South Manchester Road at the intersection of McIver Road for four days starting Tuesday morning for realignment work, Public Works Director Brian Clifton said.

The intersection is set to be closed from 6 a.m. Tuesday through 5 p.m. Friday, with traffic being detoured onto Loch Lane during the closure.

The intersection has been Y-shaped, which creates visibility problems for motorists, Clifton said, noting that federal, state and local officials have been trying for years to square off such Y-shaped intersections into T-shaped ones for years to improve visibility and reduce accidents.

The Public Works Department crew will remove the existing pavement, realign the intersection.and repave it, Clifton said.
