Malmstrom maintenance unit redesignated

The 341st Maintenance Operations Squadron was deactivated last week to align the maintenance unit with the rest of the Air Force structure.

The unit is now the 741st Maintenance Squadron.

The mission hasn’t changed and will continue to provide maintenance, training, logistics and administrative support to the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base.

The rest of the Air Force inactivated all maintenance operations squadrons several years ago, according to Maj. James Spoo, 741st commander.

Now, all three missile wings have aligned their maintenance squadrons to mirror flying units, Spoo said.
