Brother loses bet, forced to wear Griz gear

In last week’s Why I Wear, siblings Jim Ramsey and Tricia Russette sported their fan gear and duked it out over who would win the Cat/Griz game. Like every year, the brother and sister bet on the game, and the loser had to wear whatever the winner chooses.

Because the Montana State University Bobcats lost to the University of Montana Grizzlies, Jim Ramsey was forced to wear the outfit of his sister’s choosing, much to his chagrin.

Jim is wearing a blue shirt Tricia had made for him at Central Montana Variety Store in Lewistown. The shirt reads “Bobcats Suck” in gold writing across the front and on the back it says “Grizzlies” with two grizzly paws. The Grizzly logo jacket is from Shopko and he is wearing one of her Griz baseball caps.

“I hate wearing my sister’s Griz gear year after year, not only is it extremely embarrassing, but I hate her getting the satisfaction of winning and me losing,” Jim said. “I have had a great plan for a Bobcat outfit for her for the last few years, but unfortunately until the Bobcats actually win one, I won’t be able to embarrass her with it.”

To rub it in a little more, Tricia is sporting her own Griz gear, including her sweater from Kaufman’s, her “Monty” earrings from Montana Mosiac, and her cherry Dansko’s from Bighorn Outdoor Specialties.

“The best part of Jim having to wear Griz wear is simply everything,” Tricia said. “I love to see his reluctance and dread, and that for moment he actually has good taste.”
