Rodney Cobell, 52, had been missing for about 24 hours in very harsh weather conditions in rugged terrain.

After a search by volunteer members of the Judith Basin County Search and Rescue team, Cobell was found and rescued by Malmstrom Air Force Base 40th Helicopter Squadron at about 6:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Malmstrom flew multiple missions attempting to locate Cobell, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
