First Presbyterian Church will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent at 10 a.m., followed by coffee hour.

Church of the Incarnation will hold an Advent Taize service Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Hanging of the greens will take place from 10 a.m. until noon today at New Hope Lutheran Church, 3125 5th Ave. S. First Sunday in Advent will be celebrated at the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

First Congregational United Church of Christ and Christ United Methodist Church of Christ will have a joint First Sunday of Advent service at 9:30 a.m., at 2900 9th Ave. S., followed by hanging of the greens, brunch and crafts at 10:30 a.m.

First English Evangelical Lutheran Church, 726 2nd Ave. N., will celebrate the First Sunday of Advent, including candle lighting and Holy Communion, at 10 a.m., followed by hanging of the greens and decorating.

Bethel Lutheran Church, 1009 18th Ave. S.W., will celebrate the first Sunday in Advent at 9:30 a.m.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5300 9th Ave. S., will hold adult Bible study lass at 9 a.m., and will celebrate the first Sunday in Advent and hold Sunday school at 10:30 a.m.

Peace Lutheran Church, 3340 11th Ave. S., will have a soup supper, sponsored by Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Wednesday at 6 p.m., followed by the 7 p.m. Advent worship service.
