Great Falls firefighters catch fire quickly

A fire at a home at 1601 Verde Drive Friday evening ended up being minor, thanks to firefighters.

“They made a good save,” Capt. Doug Neil said Saturday morning.

It also helped that the people were home at the time, and noticed the smoke, he said.

The fire, which was reported at 8:45 p.m., began in the chimney, Neil said.

Firefighters spent about an hour-and-a-half on the scene.
