“The first year I had a snowy Christmas was when we moved from California. They never had snow. We lived in Bakersfield, Calif., but there was crime every day. It was a bad place for a kid to live. Here I finally got my first snowy day at 3 or 4. I got a little toy bulldozer, and I picked up snow and put it on the lawn. I was surprised because I thought snow was going to be blue.”
