UPDATE: Woman killed in crash swerved to miss dog

UPDATE: The Montana Highway Patrol reported that a 33-year-old Great Falls woman died in a crash southeast of Great Falls Monday morning.

The name of the woman is not yet being released, but trooper James Humiston said the woman was traveling northbound on Montana Secondary Highway 227 when she swerved to miss a dog in the road.

She left the roadway on the east side, overcorrected, and came back across the highway, rolling her vehicle multiple times.

Humiston said the woman was not wearing her seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash was reported around 6:20 a.m. Monday. It happened just south of Tracy on what is often referred to as Stockett Road.
