Valentine’s Day dining specials abundant in Great Falls

Valentine’s Day specials are abundant in Great Falls this year. Some of the opportunities are as follows.

Beef N Bone Steakhouse

The Beef N Bone Steakhouse Valentine’s Day specials run from Thursday, Feb. 11 through Saturday, Feb. 13. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.

On Saturday they have specific seatings at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Reservations are requested for Friday and Saturday. The special for these days is Chef Michael’s New York Amour Homard, a 16 ounce Angus Beef steak from Bear Paw Meats. It is a herb seasoned, charbroiled New York steak topped with sauteed garlic, capers, mushrooms, crab meat, shrimp and lobster in a herb butter sauce for $49. On Friday and Saturday, they also feature Prime Armour Homard, a 12 ounce slow roasted and hand cut certified Angus Beef Prime Rib with the same toppings as the New York Amour Homard served each special day, also priced at $49. In addition they have the full menu available. The dessert special for the three evenings is the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake dubbed “Lover’s Delight”

Beef N Bone Steakhouse is open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. and closed on Sunday and Monday. They are located south of Great Falls on I-15, exit 270 at 19 Ulm North Frontage Road in Ulm. Reservations are needed for Friday ans Saturday. Call them at 406-866-2333. Candy Masterpiece

February specials for Candy Masterpiece are lots of cherry, strawberry and chocolate. The fudge flavor is cherry cheesecake, while the Black Forest truffle is the featured chocolate. The chocolate dipped strawberries are the special order only candy. Cheery Cherry is the taffy and hard candy is black cherry barrels. Find Angie “The Candy Lady,” at 120 Central or call 727-5955.

The Celtic Cowboy

The Celtic Cowboy features specials for the week of Feb. 7-14. The featured appetizers are oysters on the half shell with six fresh raw oysters served on a bed of ice with lemon wedges and mignonette for $15. The shrimp cocktail is six large shrimp served with finely diced celery and carrots, lemon wedge and house made cocktail sauce for $10.

The lunch specials are served from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Saturday. The daily soup and sandwich special are an ever changing selection of one half sandwich with your choice of soup for $8. Also served is the shrimp po’boy which is a toasted Hoagie roll with six fried shrimp, Remoulade, romaine lettuce and tomato served with choice of house-made potato chips or fries for $12. Crispy chicken legs are served topped with balsamic caramel and fresh cilantro and accompanied by Asian slaw for $12.

Dinner specials are served from 5 to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The shrimp Alfredo is made with six large shrimp tossed with the made to order creamy garlic Alfredo and served with fettuccine noodles and garlic baguette slices for $20. The surf and turf is a 6 ounce New York Strip Steak cooked how you like it, and served with four large shrimp scampi, fingerling potatoes, and roasted honey balsamic brussel sprouts for $28. Finally, the Chateaubriand steak is a thick cut grilled tenderloin steak served with a traditional Chateaubriand sauce, with potatoes au gratin and roasted honey balsamic brussel sprouts for $38. Dimitri’s

Dimitri’s has two Valentine specials on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13 and is closed on Sunday. The favored Greek selection is the Iliad for two, a combination of Spanakopita, Pastitso, Doulmaldes, lamb, chicken and pork Souvlaki. Second is made-for-two choice with two 10 ounce New York strip steaks and four bacon wrapped shrimp. These dinners are both served with soup or salad, two glasses of Naxos Sangria and two pieces of Black Forest Chocolate Yogurt Cake. The regular menu is also offered. Jaker’s Bar and Grill

Jaker’s Bar and Grill has February covered with specials for the month in addition to those for Valentine’s Day. For the month, the beverages are Spiced Thai Tea Mocha or the Godiva Chocolate Martini. Creamy tomato soup or the tempura battered bacon are soup and appetizer, while the lunch special is steak tournedos, which are filet medallions over a garlic crouton topped with portabello mushrooms and wine sauce and served with soup or salad and a side. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 12-14, Jaker’s is featuring the prime rib and seafood buffet from 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3-10 p.m. on Sunday. The buffet features carved prime rib, crab legs, battered shrimp, lobster Alfredo, tempura cod, shrimp scampi, baked salmon, steamed clams and mussels, apple crisp, brownies with berries and salad bar. Price is adults $39.95, seniors $34.95, kids age 6-12 $16.95 and kids age 3-6 $8.95. In place of the regular menu, they are also offering a limited holiday menu.

Fort Benton’s Union Grille

You may have to move fast to score dinner at the Union Grille at the Grand Union Hotel in Fort Benton. They feature a four course dinner menu. Starters include crispy shrimp tossed with a warm Thai Pineapple Sambal and a coriander slaw; or duck confit with a apple-hazelnut salad. For the soup or salad, try the Heart Felt Salad that has arugula and baby kale with asiago and fresh strawberries tossed in a shallot and local honey vinaigrette; or Chef’s Special Valentine Soup du jour.

Entrees start with poppy seed dusted salmon with golden lentil puree, a cranberry glaze and toasted almonds. Second, try the grilled beef tenderloin with pepper balsamic drizzle over new potatoes and creamed leeks. Next there is fresh pasta and shrimp with fall squash, cannellini beans and kale and a roasted garlic and preserved lemon sauce. The fourth choice is pan roasted duck breast, creamy polenta and salt roasted beets with a red chimi churi sauce. Finally, the slow braised short ribs with red wine star anise glaze over pan fried brussel sprouts are paired with beluga lentils, candied bacon, and toasted pumpkin seeds.

The dessert trio for two includes dark chocolate panna cotta with a red wine caramel sauce; apricot and hazelnut tart with a zabaglione sauce; and poppy seed olive oil cake with a lemon-honey sauce.

The cost of $50 per person does not include alcohol or gratuity. Menu subject to change based on availability. In case you can’t get a reservation, try making a reservation for the Room & Dinner Packages priced from $200 to $260, which include a voucher for $100 at the restaurant and the complimentary breakfast the next morning.

3-D International

3-D International is open at 4 p.m. on Valentine’s Day this year. The full menu is available including the Mongolian Grill. They offer surf and turf combinations with shrimp, crab or lobster paired with one their many steak options. The Oscar preparations sound delicious made with steak, chicken, salmon or halibut topped with crab, asparagus and Bearnaise sauce. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

At Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, truffles are a big favorite with the eight-piece box of varied flavors a good choice. New flavors are Neapolitan and German Chocolate Truffle. The heart shaped boxes that you can fill with your pick of candy, or rather the recipient’s favorites, is a traditional choice. There are numerous other options such as heart sprinkled caramel apples, red candy apples, chocolate roses, gift baskets, chocolate pops, Valentine candies, chocolate suckers, solid chocolate hearts, and red velvet heart shaped boxes of assorted chocolates. Go to the lower level of Holiday Village Mall in the Food Court.
