One dead after being pulled from Billings house fire

BILLINGS — Fire officials say a person who was rescued from a house fire in Billings has died.

The Billings Gazette reports that the victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead hours after the Thursday fire.

Fire crews had responded to the home after a person reported smoke coming from the basement.

Pedestrian killed by truck near Pryor identified

Firefighters pulled one person from the one-story residence and began administering CPR. The victim was then taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze shortly after they arrived.

Fire Chief Paul Dextras says there was no one else in the basement.

The fire, estimated to have caused $80,000 in damage, is believed to have started from a space heater.
