Man charged with kidnapping, assaulting estranged wife

HAMILTON — A 49-year-old Stevensville man has been charged with kidnapping and assaulting his estranged wife.

Kevin Frost was arraigned Thursday in Ravalli County Justice Court, where his bail was set at $500,000. He was not listed on the jail roster Friday.

Prosecutors allege that on Tuesday morning Frost, wearing a mask and armed with a stun gun, hid waiting for Sherri Frost. Charging documents say he kidnapped her, hid her in a barn and forced her to drink alcohol.

Someone witnessed the kidnapping and it was reported immediately. Kevin Frost dropped his wife off at the hospital and turned himself in to law enforcement Tuesday afternoon.

Kevin Frost’s attorney said there was another side of the story. He asked that bail be set at $50,000.

Frost is scheduled to be arraigned in District Court in three weeks.
