Tribune Staff

A driver was killed and a passenger was injured in a single-vehicle rollover Sunday afternoon near Loma.

The driver was identified by the Chouteau County Sheriff's Office as Patrick Joseph Buckman Jr., 46. Both the driver and passenger were from Harlem.

The Geo Prizm was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 87, when it drove off the left side of the road near mile marker 68. The driver overcorrected to the right, and the vehicle went off the right side of the road and rolled.

Both Buckman and 45-year-old female passenger were ejected from the car.

Both were transported to Big Sandy Medical Center where Buckman was declared dead and the passenger was airlifted to Benefis Health System.

Speed was determined not to be a factor, according to Highway Patrol dispatch. The roads were dry at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether alcohol was a factor.
