Man killed in crash near Helena identified

HELENA — Authorities say a 56-year-old man has died in a collision northwest of Helena.

The Independent Record reports that the man was traveling south on Lincoln Road Monday afternoon when his truck collided with a one-ton truck that was pulling out of a private driveway.

The driver of the one-ton truck was taken to the hospital for evaluation of unknown injuries.

Lewis and Clark County Coroner Mickey Nelson on Tuesday identified the victim as William Portless Crawford of Florence.

Monday’s collision marks the sixth fatal crash this year on Lincoln Road.

The crash remains under investigation.
