On Monday evening, Chief Master Sergeant Randy Remsen was honored for his service in the Montana National Guard.

Remsen served in the guard in addition to teaching special education and coaching track and field at Great Falls High School.

“He has left a remarkable legacy for the members of the Montana National Guard,” Chief Master Sergeant Oz Mendez said.

Mendez presented Remsen with a certificate and military coin to commemorate his service. Coins are traditionally awarded to service members from an organization to symbolize their appreciation and boost the soldier’s morale.

“His last duty with the National Guard was HR Director,” Tom Moore, assistant superintendent, said. “He was honored for his diversity policies.”

Remsen has retired from the National Guard, but will continue working at Great Falls High.
