GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Three pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts and a four-hit shutout and Aaron Schnurbusch extended his hitting streak to 11 games as the Great Falls Voyagers edged the Grand Junction Rockies 1-0 here in a non-division Pioneer League baseball contest.

Chris Comito picked up his third win of the season on the hill, fanning eight batters while allowing only three hits in six innings of work before giving way to Aaron Bummer in the seventh.

Lane Hobbs struck out five batters in the final two innings to earn his third save of the year and preserve the second Great Falls shutout this season, the last coming in a Comito start against Orem a few weeks ago at home.

Jackson Glines tallied in the lone run of the contest in the second, knocking in Brady Conlan on one of only four Voyager hits on the night.

Schnurbusch struck out three times on the night but managed to continue his hitting streak with a line drive to left field in the sixth inning.

Grand Junction’s Vince Fernandez smacked a triple with one out in the ninth, extending his hitting streak to 19 games, tying a mark set by Conlan for the best in the league this season, but Hobbs struck out the final two Rockies’ batters to hand the Voyagers their second straight win.

With two games remaining in the first-half schedule, the Voyagers are out of contention for the first-half title as the Billings Mustangs clinched the North Division and automatic playoff berth with a win on Sunday.

The Voyagers take on the Rockies again Tuesday at 7 p.m.
