Fatal crash reported in Cascade County
A 20-year-old Livingston man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning in Cascade County, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.
MHP reports the crash occurred at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at 417 Vinyard Rd.
The crash investigation shows the driver of the Ford Excursion failed to negotiate a turn while driving southbound on the gravel road, which was dry at the time. The driver lost control of the vehicle and went into an embankment on the right side of the road, where it crashed through a barbed-wire fence and rolled multiple times.
MHP reports the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Alcohol and speed are suspected factors in the crash, according to MHP.
The incident was reported shortly before 7 a.m. by a newspaper carrier.
Law enforcement records show two Cascade County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene at that time.
