SHERIDAN — Sheridan’s Ruby Valley Hospital and Medical Center is getting a new $13 million facility.

The Montana Standard reports that when it is complete, the new branch will house a health-care clinic, physical-therapy and radiology departments, three emergency rooms, a helipad and additional space for specialists, administration and hospital rooms. Groundbreaking is scheduled for Oct. 26.

The new hospital will greatly increase the size of the existing hospital, growing from 12,950 square feet to 28,000 square feet. Ultimately the new facility will replace the existing hospital.

The new hospital is being funded by a $10 million U.S. Department of Agriculture loan and $2.5 million of hospital funding.

The new facility will be built on land adjacent to the current building. Construction is slated to be completed in spring 2018.
