A 16-year-old Helena boy was killed early Saturday in a one-vehicle car crash on Nelson Road northeast of Helena.

Logan Guse was pronounced dead at the scene, said Bryan Backeberg, Lewis and Clark County coroner.

Two passengers were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

The vehicle Guse was driving on the gravel road crashed at mile marker 7.8 on Nelson Road, which is past the small community of York, according to the Montana Highway Patrol, which was notified at 4:15 a.m.

Guse was driving around a curve to the right and crossed the center line with the vehicle leaving the left side of the road and rolling several times after striking an embankment, the Highway Patrol said.

Speed is a suspected cause in the crash, the Highway Patrol said.
