Church briefs: Dec. 10-16

The annual Family Christmas Festival will take place at noon, immediately after the worship services for the third Sunday of Advent, 10:30 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5300 9th Ave. S. Adult Bible study begins at 9 a.m.

Third Sunday of Advent worship, children’s time and nursery at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 2900 9th Ave. S., will be at 11 a.m. The Christmas pageant will be presented. Fellowship follows the service.

Peace Lutheran Church, 3340 11th Ave. S., will have Advent worship services on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Prior to the service, the youth will sponsor a soup dinner at 6 p.m. “The Song of Simeon” is the theme of the service. A Christmas concert will be on Sunday at 7 p.m. with joint members from Peace and Trinity Lutheran.

A Christmas bake sale and breakfast will be on Sunday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 200 44th St. S., at 8 a.m.

Central Christian Church, 1025 Central Ave., will have worship services at 10:45 a.m. with a congregational meeting after. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. Prayer team will meet on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. A brief Sunset service will also be held Wednesday at Oddfellows Park on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the first Disciples baptisms in Great Falls.

The third Sunday of Advent worship service with Holy Communion will be at 10 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church, 726 2nd Ave. N., with the Executive Council meeting after. Confirmation class is on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Bethlehem Hall.

Sunday worship service begins at 9:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 610 2nd Ave. N.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1326 1st Ave. N., will have Sunday worship services with communion at 10 a.m. Fellowship following after thanking Thrivent members. “Young at Heart” with Sarah Graft speaking will be Monday at 1 p.m.

Worship services with nursery provided will be at 9:30 a.m. at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 3809 6th Ave. S., followed by fellowship.

First Presbyterian Church, 1315 Central Ave., will have Sunday worship at 10 a.m. with fellowship following. The Christmas cantata “From a Distance” will be presented by the Cathedral Choir and Celebration Ringers.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for Great Falls Stake, 1401 9th St. N.W., will hold Stake Conference for all wards on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. to noon. Great Falls East Stake, 1015 15th Ave. S., services are Overlook Ward, 9 a.m., and Portage Ward, 11 a.m., and Roe River Ward, 4601 3rd Ave. S., at 10 a.m.

New Hope Lutheran Church, 3125 5th Ave. S., will observe the third Sunday of Advent with worship service and special music at 9:30 a.m. Fellowship will follow the service.

Ecumenical Advent Taize service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Incarnation, 600 3rd Ave. N.

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 332 Riverview 3 W., will have Sunday worship services and Sunday school for all ages at 9 a.m.

Third Sunday of Advent worship service is at 9:30 a.m. with fellowship and a bake sale following at Christ United Methodist Church, 2900 9th Ave. S. Bible study is on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

Fairview Baptist Church, 4428 2nd Ave. N., will have a Christmas program at 7 p.m. on Wednesday presented by the Treasure State Academy.

The annual Christmas Cantata will be this Sunday at Heritage Baptist Church, 900 52nd St. N., with two performances, one at 10:30 a.m. and one at 6 p.m.
