Howard scores 23 as GFH rolls

HELENA Brendan Howard tallied a game-high 23 markers, and the Great Falls High Bison controlled the action against Helena Capital Bruins in a 63-43 victory Friday night.

With the performance, Howard passed his older brother, Bobby Howard, on the school's all-time scoring list and is just 38 points away from breaking Mike Warhank's school record of 1,581.

Sophomore Blake Thelen and junior Kendall Kynett each scored 14 points as the Bison, now 2-0 on the season, jumped out to a 24-10 advantage after the first quarter and never looked back.

The Bison play their first home game of the season on Saturday afternoon, when they welcome Kalispell Flathead to Swarthout Fieldhouse for a 4:30 tipoff.
