Willis, Gopher win Athlete of Week honors

The senior scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out two assists as the Northern Stars defeated Cut Bank 68-63 in the District 1B championship game. Others nominated for their impressive efforts were Malta’s Nate Costin and Box Elder’s Tanner Parisian.

The junior totaled 25 markers in a pair of Eastern Conference wins, highlighted by a team-high 16 in a victory over Bozeman. She averaged a double-double (10.5 rebounds per game) for the week. Others nominated for their solid showings were Malta’s Jada Nicholson and Rocky Boy’s Rosie Parker.

All who are nominated throughout the school year for Prep Athlete of the Week will be honored at the Great Falls Tribune’s second annual Northcentral Montana Sports Awards Banquet this spring.
