Tommy McMillen fights Friday night in ICF 29

Former Great Falls High superstar wrestler Tommy McMillen and more than 20 other top amateur MMA fighters will compete at Four Seasons Arena Friday night at ICF 29, presented by Fusion Fight League.

At least six fights will feature Montana fighters against Washington athletes. Benefits from ICF 29 will be donated to the family of Troy Ross, the 3-year-old boy from Great Falls who recently returned home after hospitalization in Seattle for a rare lung disease.

McMillen, who was unbeaten his senior wrestling season for the Bison, will take on Shane “Havoc” Fichter in a 170-pound battle in a co-main event.

“It’s no secret Tommy is one of the best wrestlers this state has ever seen, but he’s been working his tail off at the MMA Lab in Phoenix, training with guys like Tim Welch and Sean O’Malley, so I think we will see him be a more well-rounded fighter,” Fusion CEO Terrill Bracken said.

The other co-main event features female fighters Lisa Spangler of Portland and Jessica Borga of Lakeland, Fla.

“Both of these ladies are on the verge of going pro, and I think we will see them both in Invicta, and maybe the UFC, before long,” Bracken said. “They each want one more signature win before making the jump, and this is the chance to get it.”

Other notable fighters on the card include Brock Picard and Nate Nava of Great Falls, James Dennis of Shelby and Conall Powers of Missoula.

The fights start at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15 in advance at Alias Smith and Jones Pawn, The Sting, Cody’s Cars and Big Sky Harley. Tickets are $20 at the door. For VIP tables and more information, call 697-0542.
